Nextrade (Korea's alternative trading venue)

Korea's first alternative stock trading venue, launched in March 2025 alongside the Korea Exchange.
Also known as: NXT, alternative trading system, ATS

What it is

Nextrade (NXT) began trading on March 4, 2025 as Korea's first alternative trading system. Listings stay with the Korea Exchange; Nextrade only matches trades in a set list of already listed stocks.

Hours

Besides its main session, Nextrade runs a pre-market from 8:00 to 8:50 a.m. and an after-market from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. KST, giving longer trading hours than the exchange's regular session. The Korea Exchange itself has run a 4:00–8:00 p.m. after-hours market since September 14, 2026.

What to keep in mind

Not every stock trades on Nextrade and the eligible list can change. Brokers route orders between venues under best-execution rules, so fills can differ slightly between markets. Check whether your broker supports Nextrade orders.
