Listing-day price band (IPO first day)

On a Korean IPO's first trading day, the price can move between 60% and 400% of the offer price.
Also known as: 따따블 (quadruple), first-day trading range

What it is

Newly listed Korean stocks can open and trade between 60% and 400% of the offer price on day one. The range has applied since June 26, 2023, and the chance of a fourfold first-day rise popularized the slang "ttattable" (quadruple). From the second day the normal ±30% daily limit applies.

Example

A stock offered at KRW 10,000 can trade as low as KRW 6,000 or as high as KRW 40,000 on its first day. Hitting KRW 40,000 is called "ttattable"; doubling to KRW 20,000 is "ttable".

What to keep in mind

The wide first-day range means sharp swings, and strong book-building or subscription demand does not guarantee gains after listing. Investors also watch when lock-up commitments expire, since shares can come to market then.
