DART (Korea electronic disclosure system)

The Financial Supervisory Service system where Korean companies file annual reports, material event reports and ownership reports.
Also known as: Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System, OpenDART

What it is

DART (Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System) is the electronic disclosure system run by Korea's Financial Supervisory Service. Reports that listed and externally audited companies must file are published at dart.fss.or.kr and are free to read. Exchange disclosures filed with the Korea Exchange are shown there as well.

Main report types

Annual business reports (within 90 days of the fiscal year end), half-year and quarterly reports (within 45 days), material event reports for decisions such as share issues, convertible bonds or buybacks, registration statements for public offerings, 5% ownership reports and insider ownership reports.

What to keep in mind

Figures can change when a correction ([기재정정]) is filed, so check for amended versions. The regulator also offers the OpenDART API for downloading filing data, which is the source of the filing figures on ATS View. Most filings are in Korean; ATS View explains key ones in English.
