What it is
Market capitalization is what it would cost to buy every outstanding share at the current price. It is the price tag the stock market puts on the entire company.
Formula
Market cap = share price × shares outstanding. A company trading at KRW 50,000 with 100 million shares has a market cap of KRW 5 trillion.
What to keep in mind
Never compare company size by share price alone — a KRW 10,000 stock can be worth more than a KRW 1,000,000 stock if it has far more shares. When a rights offering or bond conversion adds shares, market cap rises even if the price does not.
